2017 Annual Retreat Information

Every year MCRW holds an annual retreat at a TN state park. It's a fantastic opportunity to get away from family and life for a BUSINESS weekend, socialize with and learn from fellow MCRW members, and hole up and work on your deadlines if desired. We have programs, speakers, writing sessions, and the occasional game that involves shouting out euphemisms for the sexy sex.

This year, the annual retreat will be having some changes! We're going to try it at Montgomery Bell State Park (Burns, TN) instead of Natchez Trace State Park, and the sign up deadline is a bit tighter -- January 1 instead of later in the month, after which reservations for rooms can be made on your own. The new park needs the room deposits by January 1 or they release the room block, though it's possible you can still GET a room in the inn if you want to come.

There are two housing options. One is a regular room (@$84.92 nightly) in the Inn that can sleep two. The other is one of the 6 Villas (@$189.34 nightly) that sleep 4 comfortably with two bedrooms and two baths, along with a kitchen/living room. We encourage new members to consider the Villas. Splitting the cost among 4 people makes it an affordable stay, and it’s a great way to get to know other members.
New this year, we are capping the number of attendees at 42. There will be a waiting list in case of cancellations.
Dates of the retreat will be February 17 - 19, 2017.

More info: The schedule of events will be announced soon. All meals will be through the restaurant at the park -- no covered dish this time means less hassle -- though you are welcome to bring snacks/food/preferred items for yourself if desired. There is a $50 dollar nonrefundable room deposit, but no fee for the retreat itself.

The sign-up form (below) includes a room reservation. If you wish to attend without reserving a room, just contact Beth or Page directly! Ditto if you have any questions.

Note: we do not hold a regular meeting at the Williamson County Library in February due to the retreat.

Hope to see you there!
